ValueOne is looking for an experienced Project Buyer of Machined parts for a longer assignment at one of our customers in the tool manufacturing industry with location in Stockholm. The assignment must be filled as soon as possible.

The role

This role will provide you with an international setting, an extensive cross functional network and leading edge technologies. You will be a member of the global, category managed, sourcing team and work with suppliers within the machined parts area. As a project buyer, you are responsible for optimizing and ensuring price, quality and production method together with Supplier Quality Engineers and R&D. You are also responsible for ensuring that the purchasing department's strategy and supplier selection are followed in the development projects.

Main tasks:

Manage the sourcing of parts/products in the BOM for R&D projects in line with project time plan, budget and the sourcing strategies.
Together with R&D secure that parts/products are designed to be produced by the supplier with optimized Quality, Delivery and Total Cost over the product life cycle and in line with Time to Market targets.
Communicate technical specifications and secure that production and quality standards are followed and understood by the supplier.
Follow up that equipment and processes for assembly and test is set up at our machined parts Manufacturing Service Suppliers to meet the requirement for the new products.
Participate in the Supplier selection process for new products, handle RFQs, make cost follow ups and select the optimal supply chain for the sourced part/product.

Experience and competencies

To succeed in this position, you need a commercial mindset and technical knowledge within machine parts manufacturing and/or design. We picture you have at least three years of experience where you gained knowledge of various manufacturing processes, value engineering and the product development process. Previous experience from project related sourcing is an advantage as well as familiarity with cross-functional teamwork, SAP and supplier relationship management. You are used to interpreting/understanding drawings and technical documentation and conducting discussions with both suppliers and designers. Experience in project management or similar is advantageous. As you will be working on an international arena, your English must be excellent, written and spoken alike. Swedish is mandatory.

Responsibilities
As a Strategic Sourcing Category Buyer you will be a member of the global, category managed, sourcing team, responsible for the supplier selection process and to manage, develop and optimize the QDCP-values (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Product development) for all suppliers delivering to our plants and central warehouse. This is a key role to secure performance from our external suppliers to reach internal targets and our customers’ requirements.

Your main responsibilities are:
Manage the supplier selection process with a cross functional mindset
Evaluate, negotiate, sign agreements and maintain the sourcing parameters
Supplier Relationship Management process – lead the cross functional team to optimize and improve Quality, Delivery, Cost and product development
Drive cost improvement activities in cooperation with our contract-manufacturing partners and the R&D department to optimize product life cycle cost and safeguard cost-engineering plans.
Support change management of supplied parts
Define supplier and category strategy and plans

Qualifications
As an ideal candidate you have at least a few years of experience from strategic sourcing, knowledge of the category management concept and preferably from technology companies.

You have a solid economical knowledge specialized for commercial company relationships and transactions. Good knowledge of quality, LEAN and logistic processes is an advantage. Good knowledge of various Manufacturing Processes and SAP is an asset. Given the nature of the role and our business area, you also need a solid technical interest, a commercial mindset and a positive attitude.

The successful candidate must be fluent in English, both written and spoken form. University or College degree from a technical field (mechanical engineer is an asset) or similar experience.

You are a natural communicator and networker who easily creates trust & long-term relationships, internal and external. Other than that, you have an inner drive and the ability to take action and ownership of the tasks at hand. Your are always maintaining focus on results and with the know-how to deliver value to our company.
