We are looking for Laboratory summer workers for the R&D laboratory at the Innovation Centre for biomaterials in Sickla, Stockholm.

As a Laboratory summer worker, you will be working in the laboratory with the ongoing innovation projects in close collaboration with the laboratory engineers and the researchers in the R&D teams. By working in the Innovation Centre you will be part of a dynamic international and interdisciplinary environment. We have high focus on health and safety and you will together with your colleagues consider safety throughout all aspects of work, and ensure that safety standards in the laboratory are in line with safety procedures and routines.
Your tasks include:
• Preparation, processing, testing and characterization of materials and samples
• Documentation of experimental and analytical data
• Administration of experimental samples and chemicals

Qualifications
Are you the one? In order to succeed in this role, you have some experience in laboratory work. Your proficiency is based on ongoing studies or a completed degree within chemistry, chemical engineering, material science or another relevant area. You are a great communicator and communicate fluently in English and have good knowledge in Microsoft office tools. You have a dynamic work attitude with an analytical and systematic approach as well as excellent team working skills.
You will be working at least 8 weeks in the period June-August during day-time office hours.

We are maximising the business potential of the by-products extracted in our processes, such as tall oil and turpentine from biomass. Based on our strong innovation approach, all fractions of biomass, like sugars and lignin, hold potential for use in various applications.The Innovation Centre for Biomaterials has a key role in transforming Stora Enso from traditional pulp and paper company to the true renewable material company. The Process Design & Engineering Team has a key role when scaling-up new developed technologies & processes from laboratory scale to piloting, demonstration and first of kind industrial processes/production units. The team has the responsibility of process design & engineering from all innovation stage gate stages – process modelling & design start already at Idea Fit stage (mass & energy balances etc with Aspen+ or similar) and continue to Process Engineering and Construction of processes to pilot/demo/industrial scale.The team needs to facilitate co-operation & coordinate tasks with ICb R&D & Business Development Teams, Stora Enso production units (location where pilots/demos to be build), technology and machinery suppliers & Stora Enso internal technology teams (Process Engineering support).TasksYour main task will be to lead a team of engineers in securing a successful scale-up of first-of-kind processes from lab scale to pilot, demo and industrial production. In addition, you will grow the team, as well as its capabilities and talent.This position includes at least 50 business travel days per year.RequirementsTo succeed in this role, you have a M.Sc. in chemical, mechanical or industrial engineering, combined with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in the industry. You have excellent skills in English. You are used to all relevant project management tools and programs and it is a merit if you have also experience with Aspen or similar project simulation tools.You have a track record in scaling Frist-of-Kind processes into industrial scale and proven team management experience in international projects/teams.
